Ingredients you’ll need
- 2 packs of HAS noodles
- 1 onion
- 100 g smoked bacon
- 500 g minced beef
- 50 g butter
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- a pinch of pepper
- 200 ml milk
- 150 g semi-hard yellow cheese (such as Trapist or kačkavalj)
- a pinch of nutmeg (optional)

Preparation steps
- Split one pack of noodles in half and arrange it in two layers (see the video).
- Béchamel: in a knob of butter lightly fry the flour, then add salt, pepper, nutmeg and milk. Cook just until it thickens – you want a creamy béchamel for the noodles.
- Bolognese: sauté the chopped onion, then add finely diced smoked bacon. Add 500 g minced beef and season to taste. If you like, you can add a little pindjur, a roasted red pepper relish, for extra smoky paprika flavour.
- Layer the noodles, béchamel, bolognese sauce and cheese.
- Bake for about 30 minutes at 200°C.
